Muhammad Ashraf
Country Representative - Pakistan - Senior Fellow
Muhammad Ashraf brings over 25 years of experience in water resources development and management and working with national, international and intergovernmental organizations. He is the former Chairman of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources.
Ashraf has worked extensively on the water-energy-food and climate nexus and on the development of climate resilient technologies and practices. He has over 150 publications including 64 in peer reviewed journals. As a country Representative, he looks after all operational and financial matters of the country office/sub-offices and provides backstopping to a number of bi-lateral and regional projects/programs. Ashraf’s skills include management of large teams and projects, doing science and managing science, project planning, processing, presentation, dissemination, capacity building, water management and water governance at the sub-basin and basin levels.
He holds a Doctor of philosophy in Agricultural engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, and Master of science and Bachelor of science in Agricultural engineering from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan.
