A lack of finances, decision-making power and access to legal land ownership have been identified as key gender-related barriers to solar irrigation pump uptake among women. That is a finding of a study by the International Water Management Institute, which is currently surveying farmers across Khulna, Jessore, Barishal and Bogura to understand barriers to SIP adoption among marginalised groups.
