Mexico

Mexico is a country of rich biodiversity, home to diverse ecosystems ranging from lush rainforests to arid deserts. However, it faces significant environmental challenges, including deforestation, air pollution, and water scarcity, exacerbated by climate change.

IWMI in Mexico

IWMI is helping improve water resilience in Mexico by developing a platform that uses AI, Earth observation, and data analytics to optimize wastewater reuse. The platform will provide high-resolution data to assess the availability of wastewater for reuse in agriculture, industry, and the environment, while analyzing the economic feasibility and environmental impact of recovery efforts. This innovation supports sustainable water management and enhances the ability of local stakeholders to make informed decisions about water resources.
