Scaling out eco-regional approach in Bale Eco-region
The objective of the project’s second phase is to improve livelihoods of vulnerable people in Southern and Eastern Ethiopia while protecting the environment. Specific objectives involves ecosystems and watersheds of the Bale Eco-region (BER) are sustainably managed to improve livelihoods of highland and lowland communities depending upon the Bale Eco-region. The beneficiaries include about 1.6 million people living in the BER under sustainable management systems and up to 12 million downstream water users who rely on the ecosystem services of the BER.
