Enhancing Operation and Maintenance and Private Sector Participation in Ethiopia’s Irrigation Sector

IWMI is supporting the preparation of the National Irrigation Program in Ethiopia. This project will design and implement an investment project for rehabilitating irrigation schemes in Ethiopia.

For this consultancy service, the assignment focuses on identifying practical business models to enhance both operation and maintenance and increase private sector participation in Ethiopia’s irrigation sector, with the goal of improving performance and creating jobs.

There are two deliverables expected of IWMI under this consultancy: a Background Paper on Private Sector Participation in Irrigation in Ethiopia and a Background Paper on Sustainable operation and maintenance in Irrigation in Ethiopia.
