Land degradation assessment in the Ethiopian Rift Valley
This project will provide a comprehensive assessment of land degradation for improved planning, design, and implementation of sustainable landscape management practices. The project also aims to enhance the resilience of people and ecosystems. The project will use a locally-led participatory approach to collect and analyze data and, builds on both local knowledge and scientific data to plan and design landscape management options. The project works toward building local capacities to facilitate the implementation of sustainable land management interventions through the use of schools and farmers’ training centers to ensure improved livelihoods.
