Increasing water use efficiency in the Aral Sea Basin in Central Asia.

The overall objective of the GIZ funded eco-Aral Project is to appraise utility of adapting innovative technologies for improving rural livelihoods and achieving ecological sustainability in the Aral Sea region. This is divided into two sub-objectives:

1. study existing challenges related to water use efficiency in selected regions and develop an action plan to overcome the challenges as a proactive response strategy,

2. Demonstrate eco-friendly water and energy saving technologies to improve water use efficiency and water productivity,

3. Organize on the job trainings for water professionals in the demonstration fields of the project.
