GeoGoviya

GeoGoviya is a smart farming platform that integrates various digital tools and services to support the agricultural sector at a national level. It serves as a centralized hub for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating agricultural data and information, enabling farmers, policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders to make informed decisions and improve agricultural productivity.

In consultation with the Asian Development Bank, IWMI will assist the Ministry of Agriculture of Sri Lanka, Department of Agrarian Development (DAD), other departments under the ministry in upgrading DAD’s GeoGoviya platform and associated IT systems and digital tools; improving data collection and analyses for weather and agronomic advisory services and monitoring and evaluation of agronomic services; developing use cases of the GeoGoviya platform for a wide range of stakeholders; and preparing a strategy and institutional framework for upgrading the GeoGoviya platform as a national digital agriculture platform.
