Community Participation to Improve Water Management in South Africa’s Rural and Low-Income Urban Areas
This project intends to package and scale community-led solutions and institutionalize the WSCFs by embedding them within municipal and national frameworks while strengthening coordination between communities, local authorities, and policymakers. Through technical training, policy integration, and structured coordination mechanisms, it will ensure that the WSCFs can engage effectively in municipal planning, advocate for water efficiency, and drive localized solutions. Expanding on trusted relationships with government and local forums, this project will encourage more responsive, sustainable, and equitable water management in peri-urban and rural communities.
