CGIAR Policy Innovations Program
The Policy Innovations Program will deliver research and evidence-based policymaking by developing and piloting innovations and tools that result in stronger policies, markets and institutions improving millions of lives with a focus on sustainable poverty reduction and job creation. By leveraging our expertise in analyzing synergies and co-creating solutions in partnership with policymakers, researchers and other stakeholders in the Global South, we empower data-driven policy decisions and institutional change, delivering real results and fostering inclusive growth.
We will contribute through rapid Response Services informing at least 30 policy decisions every year in 15+ countries, 20+ cutting -edge tools: Enhancing Foresight, Priority Setting and Governance and sharing and Amplifying Analytical and Institutional Capacity of 25+ partners. The challenges that will be addressed are;
- Rising Poverty: Increase in poverty & inequality exacerbated by growing uncertainty and poly-crises
- Failing Systems: Difficult trade-offs across multiple development objectives coupled with mal-functioning markets and underperforming institutions
- Knowledge gap: Lack of credible and timely evidence for decision making to transform food, land and water systems
