Before joining IWMI, Suchiradipta worked with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). She has been a core member of the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP) Secretariat, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India working and advising on national and state science, technology and innovation policies.
