Shreya Chakraborty
Researcher – Climate Change Policy and Adaptation
With an academic background in Geography and Regional Development, Shreya Chakraborty has over 15 years of research experience in the development sector and has provided extensive institutional and program leadership. She has led several research projects on climate change impacts and adaptation, water and climate change interactions in gender, migration and health, food-water-energy nexus, disaster management policies, hyperpower policies, peri-urban socioecological transformations and women’s climate leadership.
In addition to her research at IWMI, Chakraborty is currently also involved as the focal point for IWMI in Bangladesh. Previously she was Senior Fellow and Executive Director of the South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs), Hyderabad. Chakraborty holds a Master of philosophy in Regional development, and a Master’s degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
