Shalini Rajakaruna has over 10 years of experience in the fields of environmental science, freshwater ecology and research management. Prior to joining IWMI, she worked as the Scientific Officer at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies, Sri Lanka and an adjunct professor in Environmental Sciences at the Brookdale Community College, NJ, USA. Rajakaruna holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and a BSc in Applied Biological Sciences from the Rajarata University, Sri Lanka.
