Shahid served as an Assistant Professor of Hydrology and Climate at the Institute of Space Technology in Islamabad, Pakistan, for four years. He is a Hydrologist with over ten years of experience working in consultancies and research positions specializing in hydrology, hydro-climatic modelling, MHVRA, Climate Change Impact Assessment, Extreme Event Analysis and flood modelling.
