He manages a diverse portfolio of bilateral and CGIAR-funded initiatives supported by partners including the European Union, World Bank, Food and Agriculture Organization, the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature. Omair leads IWMI’s coordination role under the CGIAR Policy Innovations Program across multiple country offices and CGIAR centers, supporting alignment of country activities with global deliverables, budget planning and revisions, and monitoring, evaluation, learning and impact assessment (MELIA) processes. Omair has extensive experience in project recovery and adaptive management, including the revision and reactivation of complex donor-funded initiatives. His expertise covers project planning, operations oversight, financial coordination, MELIA systems, and multi-stakeholder engagement with government counterparts and international partners. In addition to program coordination, he serves as Secretary to the IWMI Pakistan Management Team and has provided interim administrative oversight, supporting procurement, recruitment, field operations, and institutional planning. His work contributes to effective program delivery, cross-center coordination, and strengthened institutional governance within IWMI and the CGIAR system.
