Munyaradzi Junia Mutenje is an accomplished scientist with a strong track record of working with smallholder farmers across eastern and southern Africa. Her expertise includes research for development, capacity building, partnership building and strengthening resilience across agricultural and water value chains. Mutenje leads and contributes to multi-disciplinary research initiatives that integrate sustainable agri-food systems, socially inclusive climate adaptation strategies and market-resilient agribusiness and innovation systems. She played a central role in advancing socio-technical innovations, supporting gender-equitable pathways and promoting sustainable natural resource management practices. Mutenje’s work emphasizes bridging the gap between science, policy, and practice to deliver scalable and impactful solutions for smallholder farming communities.
