Kanishka Hewageegana is an enthusiastic data science professional with expertise in data science, big data engineering and artificial intelligence. As an Assistant Research Officer, he contributes to the Google – Computer Vision Project, developing GCP-based data infrastructure and automation pipelines to detect wastewater treatment plants in the MENA and Mexico regions using computer vision and Generative AI. Hewageegana’s work also includes creating a Streamlit web application for validation workflows. With a strong background in Python, cloud computing, graph neural networks and data analytics, he has delivered innovative solutions in ride-hailing fraud detection and water management. As a researcher, Hewageegana is passionate about advancing AI technology for sustainable impact.
