Feruza Alikulova
Communications Specialist
Feruza Alikulova is a communications and stakeholder engagement specialist with over 10 years of experience in the international development sector. She has worked with leading organizations such as UNESCO, GIZ, KOICA, UNDP and currently serves as a Communications Specialist at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Central Asia. She has extensive experience working with government institutions, NGOs, and development partners, particularly in Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region. In addition to her communications work, Feruza has strong experience as a trainer and facilitator. She has delivered capacity-building sessions on media literacy, digital communication and global citizenship education, including her current role as an adjunct lecturer at Webster University in Tashkent and as a trainer within youth-focused programs such as the NOMAD initiative.
Her expertise includes designing and implementing communication strategies, stakeholder coordination, media engagement and public outreach across multi- country projects. She is skilled in designing and facilitating interactive training sessions, engaging diverse audiences, and translating complex topics into practical, accessible knowledge. Feruza holds a Master’s degree from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management (Republic of Korea) and is an alumna of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on disinformation and malign influence. She is passionate about advancing inclusive development, empowering women and youth, and strengthening leadership and communication capacities across the region.
