WEFE Nexus Policy Webinar 3 – Looking back and looking forward: Water-Energy-Food-Environment Analyses to Support Food Futures

The third webinar of the series uses lessons from past CGIAR research to inform the future of research. CGIAR has long engaged in foresight analyses to identify priority investments and policy actions for water- and food-secure futures. One of the largest and most influential analyses has been the Comprehensive Assessment of Water Management in Agriculture that in the early 2000s evaluated past and present water management practices to inform future investment and policy decisions for food security and environmental sustainability. Among many other foresight tools, CGIAR today uses the FABLE Calculator that simulates future food and land-use scenarios. The CGIAR Policy Innovation Program’s Area of Work on WEFE Nexus Policy invites to a presentation of both of these foresight analyses: looking back and looking forward—with the goal to draw lessons for a more water-and food-secure world.
