Stakeholder Consultation Meeting on Atal Bhujal Yojana
Background
International Water Management Institute (IWMI) India is delighted to invite you to a half-day consultation, being organized as part of the CGIAR initiative on Nexus Gains (Realizing Multiple Benefits Across Water, Energy, Food and Ecosystem). Improving Groundwater Governance by addressing needs of differentiated stakeholders is one of the focus areas of the initiative, it suggests using different tools and platforms such as multi-stakeholder platforms across community, (sub) national and regional scale, behavioural games, a toolbox for improved groundwater governance and science-based policy dialogues.
In this regard, IWMI plans to conduct consultation on Atal Bhujal Yojana (Atal Jal). The scheme majorly targets sustainable ground water management through active involvement of local communities and stakeholders. Thus, the objective of the meeting is to discuss and share insights from key stakeholders for improvement in groundwater management and governance through implementation of Atal Jal Scheme. The dialogue and learning from this consultation will be useful for planning a wider workshop on science-policy dialogue for groundwater governance that we plan to organize later this year.
