SUMMARY:Global workshop for integrated monitoring of Sustainable Developmen
 t Goal 6 on water and sanitation
DESCRIPTION:\nConcept and agenda\n\n\n\n\nEnhance technical and institution
 al country capacity for monitoring\n\n\n\nCompile country data and report 
 on global progress towards SDG 6\n\n\n\n\nThe first phase of work (2015-20
 18) is focusing on the development of monitoring methodologies and the est
 ablishment of a global data baseline for all of the SDG 6 global indicator
 s. During 2016 draft methodologies underwent pilot testing and external ex
 pert review\, and were revised based on feedback received. In 2017 efforts
  are focused on country capacity building and collecting data towards a gl
 obal data baseline for SDG 6.\n\n\n\nThe purpose of the workshop is to pro
 vide a platform\, for countries and United Nations entities\, for sharing 
 experiences and reviewing results from baseline data collection efforts\, 
 and for learning and preparing for future monitoring.\n\n\n\nThe expected 
 results of the workshop are the following:\n\n\n\n\nExchange of experience
 s from SDG 6 baseline data collection in countries\, including the identif
 ication of key success factors and challenges\, with a specific focus on a
 spects related to:\n\ninstitutional structures and processes\n\n\n\nthe an
 alysis and use of data\n\n\n\nintegration across SDG 6\n\n\n\nsustainabili
 ty of monitoring efforts\n\n\n\n\n\nFeedback on the global compilation of 
 SDG 6 baseline data in 2016/2017 by custodian agencies\, both related to t
 he compilation process and to the preliminary results\n\n\n\nFeedback and 
 awareness-raising on synthesized SDG 6 reporting and the need for alignmen
 t of national\, regional and global reporting efforts\n\n\n\nFostering of 
 communities of practice for SDG 6 monitoring (regional and technical)\n\n\
 n\nAwareness-raising for country engagement in global monitoring in 2018 a
 nd beyond\n\n\n\nAdvice on priorities for the next phase of work of the UN
 -Water Integrated Monitoring Initiative for SDG 6 (2018-2021)\n\n\n\n\nMor
