DESCRIPTION:The primary objective of the First International Environment Fo
 rum for Basin Organizations is to strengthen basin organizations as key bu
 ilding blocks for environmental governance. Basin Organizations are crucia
 l in supporting the implementation of internationally agreed environmental
  goals and objectives embedded in many Multilateral Environmental Agreemen
 ts (MEAs) as well as in national and basin-wide water management schemes.\
 n\nThe Forum will provide the opportunity for basin organizations from aro
 und the globe to share experiences on strengthening their governance struc
 tures as well as incentives and tools for enhancing their operations parti
 cularly for the implementation of diff erent environmental obligations and
  international agreed goals in support of sustainable development.\n\nFor
